Further Proof That I'm Psychic

I just knew the White Sox would sweep the Astros! I should have put money down on that. I'm happy for Chicago, but I now have the post-season blues. No more baseball until spring, which seems light years from now. (As does the end of diversz, I'm only half way through.)

This has been kind of a depressing week for me all the way around. Despite seeing Okkervil River, my mind has been occupied by 2000 dead US soldiers/unknown number of dead Iraqis, devastating earthquake in India, yet another hurricane, Rove, the fact that the only professional sports players to come out are female, etc.

Dare I feel sorry for myself? Friends have seemed quite far away as well. Favorite song lyric of the week is from Morrissey, who is like the only person who does melancholy better than me. "The world is full of crashing bores, and I must be one, 'cause no one ever turns to me to say 'Take me in your arms and love me.'"

Bah, think I'll go eat some worms. Anyway, I told myself that I wasn't going to blog at work. Over & out.
