For whatever reason, I've barely read at all in the past 8 months. I've only finished two books and am in the middle of another that I started in January. However, last night I finished Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. I am stunned by how good it was-plot twists, changing narrators, ahem, Sapphic content (but was more love story than titillating), just a good yarn. I couldn't wait to come home from work so I could pick the book up and jump back into Victorian England, where a pair of orphans living wholly different lives come together.
So, I've recently bought The Curse of Lono, a Hunter S. Thompson novel long out of print. It's been republished and there are huge, crazy illustrations by Ralph Steadman. I can't wait to get into that, as I think HST wrote it while on assignment in Hawaii.
Also, Maree has given me a renewed interest in graphic novels.
I am breathing sighs of relief. Finally, after probably the biggest lapse in reading I've ever had, I think I'm back!

Yay! Welcome back to the wonderful world of graphic novels!
Thanks. I have to say that I don't really care for Black Hole. Boo.
